New helmet significantly reduces forces to neck during head-first impact
University of British Columbia researchers have invented a sports helmet that reduces direct impact to the neck by up to 56 per cent, according to preliminary tests.


Alberta College and Association of Chiropractors cites peer-reviewed, published research
June 20, 2008 - Alberta - “Chiropractic health care is a beneficial and effective treatment option that provides thousands of Albertans with relief from pain and dysfunction.” said the Alberta College and Association of Chiropractors, on June 19, in response to a call for limits to be placed on vertebral adjustment of the neck. 

Chiropractic Progress in Korea and China

Korea’s 120 doctors of chiropractic are opposed not only by the medical profession but also oriental MDs, and still face prosecutions and fines for practicing their profession. From June 4-7, the World Federation of Chiropractic held their Annual Council meeting in Seoul, to give support to the Korean Chiropractic Association (KCA) which is fighting for legislation to recognize and regulate chiropractic practice in Korea.



Saskatoon woman lobbies against chiropractic treatments
Emboldened by a multi-million dollar lawsuit recently launched in Alberta, a Saskatoon woman is resuming her battle to have the controversial practice of chiropractic neck manipulation stopped.

Today, the Canadian Health Food Association (CHFA) is applauding the government for listening to the natural products (NHP) industry’s concerns regarding Bill C-51, an act to amend the Food and Drugs Act and to make consequential amendments to other Acts, and subsequently tabling amendments which would place NHPs in a separate category in the proposed legislation.

Update on Alberta trial
Lawyers for Sandra and David Nette, an Alberta couple who've launched a $500 million class action lawsuit against a chiropractor, the Alberta College and Association of Chiropractors, and the provincial government, are asking other patients to step forward and join the fight.

Class action suit against profession in Alberta
An Alberta woman has launched a class action suit against chiropractic in that province.  The suit, filed on Thursday, June 12 in Edmonton, is asking for more than a half billion dollars in damages not only for the victim, Sandy Nette and her husband, David, but for an entire class – anyone in Alberta treated or harmed by chiropractors who deliver what the suit calls "inappropriate and non-beneficial adjustments."
