September 15, Trois-Rivières – With the latest class of 40
chiropractic graduates from Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR), the
field is growing in leaps and bounds, with a grand total of nearly 1,200 chiropractic
doctors in Québec!
"We are extremely proud that more and more of Québec's
young people are becoming chiropractic ambassadors, thereby rejuvenating our
profession. Not only is the number of chiropractic practitioners rising in Québec,
but it is also increasing worldwide," said Dr. André-Marie Gonthier (Montreal), D.C., B.Sc.,
F.I.C.C., and president of Ordre des chiropraticiens du Québec.
Internationally, chiropractic ranks first among the
different types of natural healthcare, and more than one million chiropractic
treatments are performed every day! Chiropractic has been a recognized form of
healthcare by the World Health Organization (WHO) since 1988.
The Ordre des chiropraticiens du Québec, a professional
corporation for an exclusive profession, was established in 1974 under the
Professional Code. Bringing together nearly 1,200 chiropractic doctors across
Québec, it aims to guarantee the quality of chiropractic care in order to
ensure public safety.
