New Editorial Advisory Board Members
Jan. 13, Simcoe, Ont. - Please join us in welcoming two new members to the Canadian Chiropractor Magazine Editorial Advisory Board - our thanks to Dr. Emily Roback of Alberta and Ms. Jessica Wong of Toronto for accepting these positions.

These two involved, and very busy, persons have been chosen for their positioning in the profession at this moment – one is a DC, less than five years in practice, and one is a student –  their achievements thus far and for their involvement in the profession, especially with respect to fostering  awareness of chiropractic outside of the profession.  I am excited that both have accepted a position on the board, and I thank them for offering their time, and expertise,  to our publication.

Dr. Emily Roback, Chiropractor, Red Deer, Alberta

Dr Emily Roback was born in Alberta. From birth, she has lived with a sensory-neural hearing loss.  She completed high school in Ottawa and attended Laurentian University in Sudbury where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology.  Dr. Roback worked as an exercise therapist for children with special needs while an undergraduate at Laurentian.  Her experiences with chiropractors specializing in sports paediatrics inspired her to write her first thesis paper and pursue chiropractic studies at CMCC.   Currently, she is the president of Chiroback Trekker, a practice which provides chiropractic, sports therapy, athletic training and nutritional counciling.  She also gives injury prevention seminars for search and rescue teams in Alberta, has trained in air rescue and works as an airport chiropractor.

Ms. Jessica Wong, Third Year Student, CMCC

Jessica Wong completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto (U of T) and Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences, earning a joint Bachelor of Science degree and health diploma in Radiation Therapy. Currently, Jessica is a third year chiropractic student at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC), where she serves as Treasurer of the Students’Council and Academic Director of the Interprofessional Education Council. She also sits as VP Social on the Inter Professional Healthcare Students’ Association at University of Toronto. Over the years, Jessica has been conducting research at CMCC, and Princess Margaret Hospital, and contributing articles to Canadian Chiropractic and CMCC Digest. For her research and extracurricular involvement, Jessica was awarded the A.E. Homewood Memorial Award, Dr. Colin A. Greenshields Award and Student Canadian Chiropractic Association Citizenship Award. Jessica is delighted to be a part of the Editorial Advisory Board and hopes to bring a student’s perspective to the team.
