CMCC to participate in Chiropractors Without Borders
April 7, Toronto, ON – The Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) is very excited to participate in its first Chiropractic Without Borders (CWB) mission. Seven interns, graduate student Dr. Jaclyn Durante, faculty member Dr. Carol Ann Weis and clinician Les Wiltshire will be in the Dominican Republic from April 18 to April 29, where they will have the opportunity to treat individuals who have never had access to chiropractic. According to Chiropractic Without Borders founder, Dr. Christian Genest, who met with the CMCC team last week, these missions are a life-changing experience for patients and interns alike. For many of the patients, it will be their first contact with a health professional of any kind. As with all CWB missions, treatment will be offered at no cost to patients.

Dr. Jaclyn Durante, a graduate student in the Sports Sciences Program, is realizing a long-time goal by participating in the mission.

“I have friends who have participated in Engineers Without Borders and in Nurses Without Borders,” she says. “I jumped at the chance to do this kind of outreach. You can get so focused, at school, that, at times, you lose your perspective. This is an opportunity for each of us on the team, to step back and take stock of why we are chiropractors.”

The interns who will participate on the CMCC Chiropractic Without Borders team are year IV students.  They are: Adam Armstrong, Kate Lingard, Jackie Perron, Kim Pugh, Kim Richter, Katie Sellars and Heather Ulrichsen.

Canadian Chiropractor Magazine congratulates all members of the CMCC Chiropractors Without Borders team for taking part in this initiative, and wishes the team a safe and successful mission!
