Ontario massage therapy conference welcomes chiropractic
Sept. 20, Burlington, ON – Attendees at the 2009 Ontario Message Trade Conference (OMTC)  in Burlington were able to benefit from workshops and seminars given by chiropractors and/or on a variety of topics relevant to DCs.

The OMTC is the largest massage therapy continuing education event, as well as trade show for massage products, held in Canada.  This year, it was held for two days at the Holiday Inn in Burlington, where a formidable gathering of speakers from a variety of professional backgrounds, spent two days educating each other on clinical issues, practice management questions and topics in health and wellness.

Representatives from massage therapy, acupuncture, osteopathy, Reiki and chiropractic were all present to make this an informative event. The trade show involved 50 exhibitors, featuring a wide variety of items for massage and other holistic therapies, as well as literature, industry services, educational opportunities, and more.

The Chiropractic Component

Don Dillon, a Registered Massage Therapist in the province of Ontario, gave a seminar aimed at chiropractors called “Incorporating massage therapists into your chiropractic practice.”

Also present was Lloyd List, who presented a session on “Strapping of joints for pain management and techniques for soft tissue mobilization pre-AC adjustment”.

As well, George Roth, DC, ND was present to offer a workshop dedicated to matrix re-patterning.  Massage therapists and other attendees looked on as Dr. Roth discussed how matrix re-patterning works and how it benefits patients.

Organizers of the event were very pleased with the attendance, this year, as well as the broad scope of holistic healthcare learning and networking opportunities that were available – not just to massage therapists but also to a host of other practitioners - through the speakers, and at the trade show booths.
