LACC celebrates 98th birthday

Oct. 16, Whittier, CA - The Los Angeles College of Chiropractic (LACC) at Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCU) observes its 98th birthday on Sunday, October 18, 2009. To celebrate the historical milestone, on Monday October 19 from 12-1 pm, there will be a commemoration event on the SCU campus featuring guest speaker Dr. Mark Losack.

LACC was incorporated in Los Angeles in 1911 and since that time, has developed into a leading educational institution for natural medicine. LACC currently has over 6000 alumni living throughout the world.

Dr. John Scaringe, SCU Interim President talks about the milestone, “I am honored to be part of an organization with such an extraordinary legacy. As one of the first chiropractic colleges in the nation, LACC played a major role throughout history in establishing and advancing chiropractic education. In the coming years, we look forward to developing our curriculum to prepare our students to become doctors of chiropractic who can thrive in the current integrated healthcare environment.”

Southern California University of Health Sciences incorporates the College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, the School of Professional Studies, and the University Health Center.
