NHSU Names Dean of the College of Chiropractic
Feb. 9, Bloomington, MN - Renee DeVries, DC, DACBR, has been named Dean of the College of Chiropractic at Northwestern Health Sciences University. A 1989 graduate of Northwestern, Dr. DeVries is an associate professor and has worked for the university for 16 years. She has also served as Chair of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging, and Director of Radiology Consulting at Northwestern.

“I feel very honored to be named Dean of the College of Chiropractic,” said Dr. DeVries. “As a graduate of Northwestern and a long time faculty member, I have strong loyalty to this institution. I have the greatest respect for the members of the faculty and will work hard to support them as they continue to improve the curriculum and the educational experience for our students. I am excited about the future of
the college and look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead for our graduates.”

“Dr. DeVries brings energy, passion and commitment to the position, as well as the broad respect of her colleagues and students,” said Michael Wiles, DC, MEd, Northwestern’s Provost.

As the Dean, Dr. DeVries is the senior academic and management leader for the chiropractic program. She will be responsible for providing leadership for developing and implementing policy involving all aspects
of the chiropractic program including curriculum content and design, clinical education and patient care.

The search for a new Dean started after Dr. Wiles left the position to become Provost of the University in June 2009. “Dr. DeVries was selected following a lengthy search that included many very qualified
candidates,” Dr. Wiles said. “I want to express my deep appreciation for the long hours of hard work by the Search Committee,” Dr. Wiles continued. The search committee was chaired by Tom Bergmann, DC; Anita
Manne, DC; Jane Wittich, DC; Ursula Amiot, DC; Deborah Hogenson, BS, SPHR, director of human resources; and Katy Lundell, student representative.
