CTV and CCA highlight chiropractic through Olympic coverage
Feb. 12, Vancouver, BC –  The Canadian Chiropractic Association (CCA) is presenting tips and information for health and wellness through the CTV Olympic and Paralympic coverage website. The page, titled “Chiropractic Corner” can be accessed at www.ctvolympics.ca/chiropractic-corner/index.html and highlights a number of sports safety issues as well as the Fit-in-15 program designed by the CCA.

Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium is the official Canadian broadcaster of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. A partnership between leading media conglomerates CTV Inc. and Rogers Media Inc., the Consortium will provide complete coverage in English, French and multi-languages – specifically, a total of 22 languages – on multiple platforms.

The Consortium will deliver 4,800 hours of coverage from the 2010 Winter Games – the most robust media commitment ever by an Olympic rights-holder in this country. Every second of Olympic competition will be available, live, on one of the Consortium’s platforms which include two official websites,  12 television networks, 20 radio stations, and a national print publication.

The 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic games in Vancouver is also notable for the number of doctors of chiropractic who will be working on medical teams both for Canadian athletes and as host health care providers for athletes from around the world.

The CCA has recognized the receptive atmosphere which has been created for chiropractic through the health care networks for the Olympic and Paralympic games as an opportunity to bring chiropractic to the attention of the public as well.  Millions will be viewing coverage on CTV and visiting its websites for further details.  Through sponsorship and designing a web-page dedicated to health and wellness stemming from chiropractic knowledge, the CCA has achieved a platform for the profession to reach out to the world through the CTV coverage site which will be visited by a wide international audience over the coming days and weeks.

Canadian Chiropractor Magazine would like to congratulate the CCA on this initiative and would also like to wish the very best to all the DCs who are providing chiropractic, as well as other health care related services throughout the games!
