– Douglas Laboratories®, a leader in the industry of nutritional
supplements, would like to announce some enhancements
to their best selling multiple vitamin/mineral formulations. The
improvements to these products reflect current research and the highest quality
raw materials available.
Douglas
Laboratories® now uses Metafolin®, the body’s preferred
form of folate. Metafolin®, also known as
(6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolic acid ((6S)5-MTHF), is the naturally occurring,
predominant form of folate in the body, and is directly usable by the
body. Metafolin® is patented,
contains only the S isomer of the 5-MTHF, and has been shown to be the only
form of folate to be able to cross the blood-brain barrier.
Metafolin® is now the
form of folic acid to be found in the company’s award winning Ultra Preventive X formulation as well
as in the following multiple vitamin/mineral formulations: Ultra Balance III, Ultra Balance III with Iron, Ultra Balance III with
Copper & Iron, and Ultra Preventive Beta.
Douglas Labs is also introducing
a revision to the special green food base in Ultra Preventive X – it will now include a variety of organic fruits and vegetables, along
with the added improvement of using all gluten
free grasses. This product provides
the Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) equivalent of four to five servings of fruits and
vegetables. This unique formula now offers
extra Vitamin D3, also
known as cholecalciferol. Vitamin D3
has been increased to provide 1000 I.U.s per serving. Researchers have recently learned that supplementation with vitamin D at levels greater than previously thought
necessary is critical to helping maintain overall health.
