Come to Rio de Janeiro next April
Sept. 15, Toronto, ON – The World Federation of Chiropractic’s 11th Biennial Congress, to be held April 6-9, 2011 at the Intercontinental Rio Hotel in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is your chance of a lifetime to visit one of the world’s most exciting cities.

There is the usual outstanding academic program with 20 hours of CE credits applied for in Canada, Europe and the USA. A session on the cervical spine features lectures by Scott Haldeman, DC, MD, PhD on non-surgical management, and Donald Murphy, DC on chiropractic management of cervical radiculopathy.

They are joined by one of Brazil’s leading orthopedic surgeons Tarcisio de Barros, MD, PhD of the University of Sao Paulo who lectures on clinical indications for surgical management. Technique sessions on the cervical spine include workshops by John Downes, DC (cervical adjusting), Mike Leahy, DC (ART), Arlan Fuhr, DC (Activator Methods) and Donald Murphy, DC and Michael Schneider, DC, PhD (Low-Tech Rehabilitation Protocols).

A session on chronic pain features lectures from Eduardo Bracher, DC, MD, PhD of Brazil (Best Exercises for Spinal Problems), Michael Schneider, DC, PhD of the USA (Best Exercises for Upper and Lower Extremities), Lindsay Rowe, DC, MD of Australia (Imaging and Red Flags) and Linda Carroll, PhD of Canada (Psychosocial Aspects and Recommendations for Practice).

The social program is just as special – experience the music, samba and passion of Brazil at the Brazil Show and the Gala Banquet and Dance. Experience Brazil’s famous barbequed meat served from the sword at the Friday night event at the Oasis Churrascaria.

Rio de Janeiro is the home of carnival, the girl from Ipanema, and the beaches and mountains that make many people consider it the world’s most beautiful city. Visit the world’s largest football stadium of Maracane and Corcovado with its famous towering statue of Jesus Christ.
