December 9, 2013 — The Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) has begun its comprehensive search for the college's next president, following an earlier announcement that current president Dr. Jean Moss is stepping down next year.
In September, the CMCC Board of Governors announced Dr. Moss will
step down from her position as president, effective June 30, 2014. With
over 43 years of service to CMCC and 23 years as president, Dr. Moss
leaves a rich legacy and a successful institution internationally
recognised for its professionalism and innovation.
Following the
announcement, a presidential search committee, chaired by Dr. Kelli
Blunt, past chair of the CMCC Board of Governors was appointed. The
committee selected executive search firm, Feldman Daxon Partners, Inc.,
to conduct the extensive national and international search to recruit
the next CMCC president. Feldman Daxon has a proven track record of
success in performing executive level searches and clearly demonstrates
the values that best align with CMCC’s core values.
"Dr. Moss will be leaving a glowing legacy at CMCC. We are working very closely and collaboratively with the principals at Feldman Daxon toward the goal of finding the best leadership to take that legacy forward. We have solicited and received invaluable input from our stakeholders. The position is attracting a great deal of interest and I am confident that we will have a deep and extensive roster of highly qualified individuals from which to choose," said Dr. Blunt, a CMCC graduate from the class of 1994.
CMCC
is seeking an energetic and outstanding leader who can champion CMCC’s
vision "creating leaders in spinal health" and academic excellence in
chiropractic education, research and patient care; effectively
fundraise; and demonstrate a commitment to collegiality, student
engagement and the pursuit of strategic initiatives that promote CMCC’s
position as a world leader in chiropractic education.
Leveraging
CMCC’s strong academic reputation and working collaboratively with the
faculty, staff and student leaders, the incumbent will actively foster
an environment of intellectual pursuit, quality and professional growth.
The
president will represent CMCC externally and will develop and nurture
relationships with alumni, friends, donors, government and educational
partners at the local, provincial, national and international levels,
with the goal of attracting support and creating partnerships that
advance and align with the institution’s mission and vision.
