The study, conducted with Dr. George Bakris, M.D., a noted
hypertension expert at the University of Chicago, revealed a significant drop
in blood pressure when the C-1 vertebra is adjusted using the NUCCA technique,
a result equivalent to the effect of taking two antihypertensive agents.

The publication of this preliminary study has caused a stir within the medical community and
has received national attention on programs such as "Good Morning America." Dr.
Dickholtz currently involved in several
research projects, including autism, brain scans and Temporal Mandibular Joint
Dysfunction.

Dr. Dickholtz has several publications to his credit and often presents the results of his work. However, he notes that funding for chiropractic research is extremely difficult to obtain. Dr. Dickholtz hopes that the success of his study, and the stir that it has caused, will aid in increasing funding for C-1 vertebra
research.
