Pathways to Practice, 2012

May 30, 2012
May 25, Toronto, Ont. – The Ontario Chiropractic Association announces that its annual Pathways to Practice event will be taking place on Saturday, October 27 at the Hilton Toronto.

This year the OCA is pleased to feature special guest Dr. Richard Brown, a chiropractor and lawyer practicing in the United Kingdom. Since 2009, Dr. Brown has been the President of the British Chiropractic Association (BCA) and was instrumental in leading the Association during one of the profession’s most challenging times in Britain.

Dr. Brown recently wrote about his experience at BCA in the November issue of The Chiropractic Report.

The article discusses the BCA and their lawsuit with a young scientist named Simon Singh, the media fallout and ensuing events which led to “one in three UK chiropractors facing formal disciplinary proceed- ings from its regulator, the General Chiropractic Council,” as noted in a recent report on the events.

Dr. Shawn Thistle, founder and president of the Research Review Service, will also be presenting at the event.

Also, back by popular demand, a tradeshow will feature more than 30 professional exhibitors showcasing a variety of products and services designed to help you in your practice. Whether you are just taking the time to renew acquaintances or making new connections, the tradeshow is a valuable part of our delegate event experience.

Delegates can check out Tech Talk, our internet café that offers attendees the chance to experience the latest software products or to simply connect on the web. Delegates can test drive PMP and ChiroWrite, and access other OCA resources from several computer workstations. Or just simply take time to rejuvenate and relax at the Relaxation Station on our high performance massage chairs.

Delegates will also have a chance to win one of many exciting event prizes. Draws winner are announced at the closing reception in which all delegates are invited. The reception features a selection of cocktails and hors d’oeuvres and provides attendees with time to network with peers and explore the tradeshow.

OCA’s professional development day qualifies for up to six hours of structured credits for continuing education (CE), as outlined by the College of Chiropractors of Ontario (CCO).
